1000cc Supersports Bikes of 2010 Compared

Lately I’ve been viewing videos and specs of some superbikes after receiving an email from Yamaha about their new 2010 YZF-R1. My interest with superbikes started when I was 10 years old when my brother bought some magazines about superbikes and he was a motorcycle mechanics at that time. It has always been my dream to own one but I didn’t push hard on that because superbikes in Malaysia is very expensive due to the import tax. A new 2009 YZF-R6 cost about RM85,000 (USD25,000) while the MSRP in the US is only USD10,190 (RM35,000). I’m writing this post to compare some 1000cc models based on their technical specifications.

Data based on manufacturers’ specifications and Wikipedia.

Other models were viewed but not compared because of difference in engine capacity, power output range and categories. There are a lot of data that I was unable to find so please share them if you have any. Write them in with your comments. These are just technical specifications. I hope you can share your experience with the bikes in the comments. Next are 600cc bikes.
