The Real Power of Branding

The Real Power of Branding

Realpower

Last night I was fooled by the Real Madrid brand. I went to a grocery store to buy some juice but suddenly when I saw the Real Madrid logo on cans of drinks I quickly grab a can and also my favorite fruit juice and straight to the paying counter. I don’t even read what was written on the can until later when I want to drink it. That Real Madrid logo was like covering everything on the can that I can’t see anything else. At first I thought it might be a coffee drink or something like Pepsi but I was surprised because it was actually an energy drink and tasted like Red Bull. Why am I drinking an energy drink at midnight? That drink did cause me difficulty to sleep last night.

I like football (soccer) and there are several famous teams that I love to watch them play. I like Real Madrid but I’m not a fanatic fan who will always notice every change in the teams. I watch football because of the gameplay and not just because of the teams. Most of the time I don’t care who will win or lose except when Manchester United is playing. I always prefer ManUtd to lose not because of the team but because of the fans. Most of ManUtd/Chelsea/Liverpool around here are so ‘poyo’. I don’t know how to exactly describe this but they’ll get emotional and cursing when the teams are losing. I don’t mind if they from Manchester but the problem is they are million miles away. They might not even care about the local football scenes.
