I am using a HP Compaq V3700 cheap laptop but I’m really satisfied with the performance as I needed. My processor temperature reached 85°C just now. The normal processor temperature for my laptop is about 53°C. Fortunately the laptop don’t just blow or have any hardware damage. I don’t know the actual reason but I assume it might because of the dummy flash card I’ve inserted in the card slot because the temperature returned to normal after I removed it. That is not a confirmed reason because I’ve been inserting the card in the slot since a month ago but there was no significant change of temperature. I’ve also removed the Express Card cover to help reduce the temperature. At that time, the number of applications are just as normal and both processor and memory are running at normal condition. I mean the processor usage was only about 30% and 700MB free from my 2GB RAM. These are my current temperatures of my laptop devices gathered by SpeedFan application:

I don’t think the ambience temperature would make the laptop heat up that much. Today might be the hottest day of the month with temperature of 35°C and humidity of 41% during the day and 30°C with 70% humidity at night. The average temperature for Malaysia is probably 30°C with humidity of 75%. Normally the heat will always be followed by a heavy rain but for this month there was no heavy rain yet here in Shah Alam. I am wondering if the effort of reducing global warming such as Earth Day, green technology, or anything really have any effect. Is it summer already in the Western countries? How about the weather at your place?
