Simple tips that you should not miss are:
1. Put images relevant to your post when ever possible.
A lot of visitors to one of my blogspot blogs are from Google Image Search. Before the blog got into the first page for it’s niche in the Google web search, most of the readers were from the image search and blog search. Image search and blog search will then help your blogs or websites climb the main search page. The blog ranked first in both image search and blog search for it’s niche and couple of month later on second rank in the Google Web Search.
2. Don’t ever change the website or blog title.
Before you start blogging, think about a very good blog title that you’ll never gonna change it later. Talking about the same blog as in number 1, after steadily ranked second in the Google Web Search, I’ve added a word to the blog title and suddenly the blog went from the first page to the last page. This occured in all other search engines too. Now it is slowly climbing back to a respectable position but the problem is number of competitors are rising quick and a really hard work is required to get back to the first page.
3. Write hot and updated contents.
If you don’t really have a niche for your blog, make research on what’s currently hot and being talked about. Don’t just depend on meta tags or post titles because a lot of users that came from search engines searched for keywords that are mostly in the post contents. Maybe Jessica Alba or Britney Spears can help because they are the most searched celebrities in the internet.
4. Write something different.
Write your own contents and be different. If you too lazy to do that and want to copy from others, use different titles and make some minor alterations. It is a common sense where if there are two identical post on two different site, the one that is more famous will get the visitors. I saw some blogs where the author just copy and paste articles of other people. I hate these kind of blogs and I don’t feels like visiting them again.
5. Use long keywords.
Millions of blogs write about the same thing. If you just rely on short keywords like affiliate programs, twitter, friendster, etc. nobody will find your post in the search engines. The only readers for the articles with short keywords came from backlinks or from your own blogs. The best thing is to use at least a three word phrase as keywords. You might have to do keyword research just to find the best title for your articles.
6. Answer problems.
People use search engines to find answers and they’ll come to you if you have answers to their problems. These search engines visitors are so important because they will click on anything that looks like an answer for what they are looking for. I believe you’ll be happier when most of your readers came from the search engines and it feels good when you can help others. Just start by answering your problems because many others are experiencing the same thing.
